July 11, 2009 – August 3, 2009
Opening Night: July 11th 7pm

FUNCTION 13 Gallery is proud to present the 4th installment of the multidisciplinary art exhibition DECIMALS REBUILT.

After two years of construction, the exhibition consists of over 35 paintings, graphics, and experimental animations all created to reflect MEDIAH’s conceptual world. This is MEDIAH’s most extensive collection of work to date, culminating in a single immersive exhibition that will be sure to excite and inspire.

DECIMALS REBUILT has travelled to Montreal, Winnipeg, Ottawa and after much anticipation will open in Toronto at the Function13 Gallery!

The exhibition combines the artistic genres of contemporary painting, digital media; such as animation and graphic design and street art into one environment. Each piece draws the parallels between human emotion, evolutionary existence, progressive responsibility and religion. As part as the functionality, Decimals rebuilt will introduce the dynamic between social interactions and the principals of math. The exhibition creates a multilevel atmosphere for the audience.

MEDIAH’s work consists of weaving traditional street art forms with digital media, traditional painterly techniques and digital animation which result in an aesthetic grounding based in many of the forms and approaches found in the work of Futurist painters of the early 20th century. The result of which glorifies and captures the essence of speed, motion, dynamism and force to create movement in the image surface. However, MEDIAH’s work simultaneously provides the viewer with not only this glorification of speed relating to the thirst for a faster and more streamline world but also its unavoidable repercussions of collision, disaster and chaos.
